The Attorney General’s Office oversees an array of legal matters. Prosecution of criminal cases to pursue justice on behalf of victims; civil suits to represent the Commonwealth. Investigation of police misconduct allegations and re-investigation of cold cases are also key components.

The Office of Public Integrity investigates allegations of fraud, corruption, waste, or abuse committed by County employees or outside vendors doing business with the County. This unit also addresses concerns raised through its Whistleblower Hotline.
The Public Trust and Police Integrity Unit (PTPIU) consists of experienced trial attorneys trained to impartially review and prosecute cases alleging police misconduct such as unnecessary or excessive force usage by officers. Furthermore, in addition to working within its state jurisdictions, PTPIU frequently provides training courses on police conduct issues to attorneys and law enforcement personnel across the globe.
Gurbir Grewal of New Jersey Attorney General has initiated a special unit aimed at combatting government corruption and increasing public trust in government institutions. Led by veteran federal prosecutor Thomas Eicher, this unit will investigate numerous crimes while also emphasizing civil rights violations and wrongful convictions as a major area of focus in Grewal’s administration.

OSFFCP was established by Connecticut Attorney General’s Office to increase effectiveness of identification and prosecution efforts against white collar crimes which compromise financial systems or prey upon vulnerable individuals in Connecticut or across the nation. OSFFCP offers legal support in terms of investigations as well as prosecution.

One such award was bestowed in 2023 upon Assistant Deputy Attorney General Christopher Clements and Megan Fluckiger of Justice Management Division respectively.
