The law school offers six Centers of Excellence that offer opportunities to connect with professors and experienced alumni who can share their knowledge and expertise, such as: the Center for Advocacy; Business and Transactional Law Center; Children and Family Law Center; International Comparative Law Center; Oil & Gas Law Center and Law and Government Center. In addition, an LL.M program is also offered for foreign trained lawyers looking to take the bar exam in any U.S jurisdiction.

Academics

Law School also offers an innovative accelerated bachelor’s degree program known as LEAP that allows talented undergraduates to transition directly into law school without first earning another bachelor’s degree.

Students can participate in legal internships and clerkships or take advantage of pro bono programs offered at their law school. Washburn law students can expand upon these activities by participating in interscholastic trial advocacy and negotiation competitions, becoming editors of the Washburn Law Journal or acting as research assistants to faculty members.
