After personal injury lawyer Abigail Bianchi’s marriage disintegrates and an embarrassing viral video featuring her drunken behavior surfaces online, her only option for returning to practice law will be with guidance from one of her senior partners – like Harry Svensson (Victor Garber), owner of Vancouver’s premier family law firm alongside Daniel and Lucy who Abby has never met but share as half siblings.

Jewel Staite

The CW has welcomed Family Law to its lineup of scripted series. Starring Jewel Staite as Abigail Bianchi, a Canadian attorney whose life is unraveling; created by Susin Nielsen (also responsible for Degrassi); released for viewing in 2021; renewed for season two already! Co-produced with Entertainment One (eOne).

Abigail awakens in her car late for court feeling devastated by her separation from husband Frank (guest star Luke Camilleri) and misses her children terribly. Here she must work under probationary terms alongside his two half-siblings Daniel and Lucy (Zach Smadu and Genelle Williams respectively).

Harry’s firm is clearly dysfunctional. He imposes stringent conditions and rules upon Abby or she will face disbarment, while dragging his heels in cases is causing delays that force the staff to work under impossible deadlines and ultimately risk their jobs.
